Private/Group Baseball Instruction
HITTING
Players are taught fundamental principles of hitting the baseball with a short compact and powerful swing. Sessions encompass hitting drill stations which include cage work with live pitching and pitching machines, tee stations, soft toss and other hitting drills designed to eliminate swing flaws and improve performance at the plate.
PITCHING
Throwing drills and exercises designed to elevate performance, improve mechanics and confidence. Focus is on gaining and maintaining control and command of fastball and change of pace. Additional pitches are taught as pitchers level of progress advances. Discussions about pitching philosophy and situations are included in the curriculum.
CATCHING
Curriculum program is designed to address correct catching and receiving mechanics. Footwork, throwing mechanics and blocking pitches are areas of emphasis. Players are tutored in working with pitchers, fielding bunts and pop fly balls and sliding tag plays at the plate. Team leadership methods and philosophy is paramount to a players development as a catcher and are continually discussed.
FIELDING
Players focus on building skills needed to become confident, aggressive infielders and outfielders. The mechanics of Perfect Fielding Position is stressed combined with correct throwing to achieve accuracy and speed. Double play pivots from both sides of 2nd base are drilled as are receiving throws from catchers and outfielders and making tags on sliding runners. The importance of communication and leadership is continually stressed.
