Attack Coaching Staff
Jodi McMillan- Attack Volleyball Club Director
Welcome to Attack Volleyball Club. My name is Jodi McMillan and I am the Owner and Club Director for this family we call Attack Volleyball. I have been involved in and around volleyball for 20 plus years in many different areas of the game. I have been a Player, Coach, Mentor, Official and my current position as Club Director. As a player, I participated in three years as a Varsity Setter, received First Team All Conference Awards my junior and senior years of high school, as well as playing basketball and softball. I have coached athletes beginning volleyball at the elementary level, middle school level, high school level, AAU ages 10U-18U and have been instrumental in assisting many former players from Attack Volleyball Club continue their volleyball experience playing at the Collegiate level. I continue training in the game of volleyball by attending yearly coaching clinics and classes to maintain a high level of competency and continue to improve my knowledge of the game. I have also been blessed to have had the opportunity to teach and mentor young athletes at various camps and clinics.
I grew up in the area, graduating from Dansville High School and then continuing my education at Lansing Community College and eventually to Michigan State University, where I graduated with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services with an emphasis in teaching and working with young children. I later graduated from the Mid-Michigan Police Academy and worked for several years as a Police Officer in the Lansing area. I married my husband and decided being a mom and starting a family was ready to take top priority.
Over the past few years as club director, I have formed tremendous relationships with athletes and coaches from schools all over the area. My dream for this club is to remain focused on teaching the fundamentals of the game to all athletes that have the desire to grow in the sport, and as young people. I am determined to turn no kids away because of financial hardship by providing fundraising opportunities that allow athletes to participate. I have worked hard with families to make sure that everyone has Attack Volleyball Club to call their home. I am dedicated to bringing a higher level of volleyball to the Lansing Area and continuing to move Attack Volleyball Club to a National Level, while continuing the many programs offered for athletes at all levels of play.
As Club Director it is my goal to provide each athlete with quality coaching, an extensive knowledge of the game, learning opportunities about team work, competition, and how to "work hard," in the game of volleyball. It is my experience that when you provide young people with a positive experience, they are more open to learn the skills you are providing to them.
I have been married for the past 9 years and have an amazing five year old son. I enjoy Spartan football, basketball, and volleyball, playing sports with my husband and son, as well as spending as much time with my friends and family as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read about Attack Volleyball and what we have to offer your athlete. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your family.
